Foldable Background -Blue & Green Screen

Green and blue screens are primarily used to better cut out people from the background in digital video post-production and to insert them in front of a new background. This is used, for example, in Hollywood films when an actor is supposed to be riding a dragon in the final film – although they originally sit on a wooden frame.

To understand how these backgrounds work purely from a technical perspective, one must keep in mind that human skin does not have a green or blue component, but rather the skin color is located almost oppositely on the opposite side of the color scale. For this reason, human skin can (theoretically) be very easily cut out from a green or blue background.

Whether you choose one color or the other depends on the lighting in the studio, but also very much on the background you want to add later. The question here is whether the later background is located more in the light or dark color spectrum.

TheGreenscreenis indeedvery easy to illuminate, since the neon color itself is already very bright. But for this reason, it also always reflects some color back onto the person or object placed in front of it.
