Notes on changing the flash tube

When changing the flash tube, always switch off the flash beforehand and disconnect from the power supply or remove the battery and wait until the protective bell and flash tube are cold. The flash tube may only be changed when the device (flash capacitors) is discharged!

Never touch the exposed electrodes of the flash tube, as in the event of a fault, the flash capacitors can still be charged, even if the flash unit is switched off and disconnected from the power supply or the battery has been removed, and touching it is life-threatening!

In any case, please use clean and dry cotton or, even better, rubber gloves for the change. Carefully pull off the protective bell. Wrap the twisted ignition wire from the flash tube holder and carefully pull the bulb out of the device. To insert a new flash tube, support the legs of the replacement tube without touching the metal contacts and push it carefully into the final position. Then wrap the ignition wire around the flash tube holder again and put the protective bell back on.
