In addition to an optimized housing, the clip-on flash also impresses with even further improved heat dissipation. Also new: the clip-on flash has optimized battery performance. It not only offers flexibility, but also performance in a portable format.
Norderstedt, September 21, 2022. The manufacturer Jinbei is launching the official successor to the HD-2 Pro, the HD-2 Max. Like its predecessor, the new clip-on flash impresses with a flash output of 80 watt-seconds, which can be adjusted in 9 f-stops, and with a guide number of 60 In addition, the housing has been redesigned for better handling, which is also reflected in the design. Jinbei has also improved the heat dissipation of the new clip-on flash.
The redesigned, 460 gram lightweight shoe mount flash is still compatible with Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Panasonic, Olympus cameras and current Jinbei wireless transmitters. For Sony cameras there is a separately available adapter. The device can be used as a master flash, slave flash or speedlite. Thanks to the integrated 2.4 gigahertz remote trigger, the HD-2 Max can also remotely trigger other flashes of the HD series in master mode and can be used unleashed in slave mode. As flash modes, users can choose between TTL and manual. TTL is particularly advantageous in changing lighting conditions, for example during outdoor shoots, since the constant manual correction of the flash output on the device is no longer necessary. In manual mode (M), the desired flash output and all other settings can be conveniently set manually using the 2.8-inch touchscreen.
The HD-2 Max has a fast recycling time of just 1.5 seconds, so shooting in quick succession is no problem. The astonishingly fast burn time is also interesting, as it impresses with up to 1/10,000 seconds in normal mode and 1/50,000 seconds in the new freeze mode with an effective flash duration of t = 0.5. The new Freeze mode allows you to freeze fast movements, flash against the sun and use wider apertures for outdoor portraits with even shorter exposure times.
The all-rounder is equipped with a supplied lithium polymer battery with a capacity of 1,600 mAh. Up to 450 releases are achieved with a single battery charge, so that there is enough power available to easily cope with longer photo shoots. An integrated ¼ inch thread on the outside of the HD-2 Max offers additional flexibility for creative settings and operation via remote release. A cold shoe stand, a practical transport bag, a bounce card, a charger with charging cable and a USB-C cable are also included. The new HD-2 Max clip-on flash is now available for 249 euros (RRP).
