How the firmware update works – in 3 simple steps
1. Connect TR-Q8
Connect the TR-Q8 viaUSB cable with your computer. The transmitter will be automatically recognized as external drive displayed.
2. Download firmware
Download the appropriate firmware file for your model above. Make sure to select the correct version (SonyorUniversal).
3. Copy file
Copy the file
directly into the TR-Q8 drive
. The update starts automatically –
No software is required.
New feature in the menu: Boost or Normal mode
After successful installation, you will find two new settings in the menu of your TR-Q8:
🟠Boost Mode
For newer flashes (from around model year 2021)
→ Higher reach & short loading times
⚪ Normal mode
For older flashes
→ Optimal compatibility & secure triggering
💡 Tip: Select the mode that matches your flash unit to avoid misfires.
